A debate for all educators who are interested the impact of the digital age on learning.
Three professors who have had great influence on the culture of the MirandaNet community since 1992 will be leading a debate about the learning issues that face schools in this digital world.
5:00 to 6:00pm - Professor Gunther Kress, Institute of Education, University of London, will be talking about multimodal signs of learning in the context of digital technologies : Professor Bridget Somekh and Di Mavers, Manchester University, will describe their research into children’s learning within and beyond the classroom with particular reference to evidence collected through the study of concept maps. Professor Niki Davis, Iowa State University and Christina Preston, MirandaNet, will be drawing examples from transnational learning communities that now exist online and face to face.
6:00 to 7:00pm The discussion will be open to participants to ask questions of the speakers and share their views.
