Dr Sarah Younie graduated from the University of Warwick, with a first class degree in Philosophy and then studied for a PGCE in English and Humanities (11-18 Ye

ars) at the University of Leicester. Sarah taught in an innovative 11-18 community school during which time she studied for a second Postgraduate Certificate in Further Professional Study in Education at the University of Cambridge. Sarah was awarded an ESRC scholarship to study for her Masters degree in the Sociology of Contemporary Cultural Theory at the University of York, and then completed a PhD in Education and Technology. Sarah has taught for over 20 years and in addition to school teaching, she has experience of teaching on BA, PGCE, MA and PhD programmes in universities where her teaching and research focuses on managing change in education, in particular technology and the opportunities this provides for innovation in practice. Sarah is an active researcher having worked on over thirteen projects, including international projects with the EU on technology and education. She has published books, complied edited books and delivered research papers at international conferences and published articles in peer reviewed journals. Sarah has been the UK chair of the subject association ‘IT in Teacher Education’, where she worked closely with government education agencies. Sarah is Programme Leader for the MA and PG Cert in Education Practice at De Montfort University and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bedfordshire.
