John Preston is a life member of the European Movement, Vice-Chairman of CLEG, a member of Chatham House, a student of post-War European integration and a university lecturer.

A strong Europhile since early childhood – confronting his father for the first time at the end of WWII - he believes in European integration, seeks the direct election of commissioners by the people of the member states and supports the creation of dedicated European projects - specifically the establishment of European training colleges for peace keeping.

He finds most negative attribution to “Europe” is often the result of inaccurate reporting or a poor response by the main institutions of the UK.

He tries to do his best to improve information on both sides of the debate about the EU and ‘Europe’ by working with the facts.
