Water for Life

Aims and Participants

This group was also based in the SCEPTrE Centre, where it was led by Professor Brian Clarke. The aim of the group was to research into the problems of water treatment and supply. Prof. Clarke showed the group the basic chemistry behind the work, and then some of the projects in Africa with which Surrey University is associated.

The group consisted of four Japanese and four UK students: Satoshi Fujito from Rakuhoku, China Yamada from Kyoto university of education school, Goro Yamano, from Ritsumeikan school, Shunsuke Miyata from Rikkyo Japanese school, UK, Amanda Talhat from Colchester, Jolante Gale from County Upper, Michael Dawson from George Abbot, and Lawrence Doyle from Hinchley Wood.

Their facilitator was Takaaki Yuki, a student at Surrey University.

University of SurreyDuring the week-long Workshop, students and their teachers, university researchers, and cultural language facilitators worked together, through the process of inquiry, to understand a challenging and complex scientific problem.
